NSTRUMENTATION
Dr J's solo act includes his saxophone, flute and live vocals, although he has a fully rehearsed band to compliment nearly every event or occasion.

BIOGRAPHY
Johnny was born in Tallahassee, FL, but eventually moved to Rochester, NY, where his interest and love for music blossomed. His fascination with music cultivated immensely at age six, after his family moved near the Eastman School of Music Conservatory where his mentors studied.

They were famous artists who introduced Johnny to old Jazz recordings and style. He developed his early music skills on the piano through their talent and coaching. Florida A&M's infamous marching band was another major influence on this artist and his career. It didn't take long to find his life's passion; the saxophone. After moving back to Tallahassee he became influenced by his long time idol, Cannonball Aderly, who lived in the same community, and inspiring A&M graduate. Upon High School graduation, Johnny earned a musical scholarship to Florida A&M where he served double-duty as a dedicated student and club musician which helped shape him into a highly regarded musician in Miami and New York alike.

An artist of integrity; skill; personality and honesty, he is held in high regard by some as the next Grover
