
Dennis Noday
Former lead trumpet with Stan Kenton and Maynard Ferguson
Dennis Noday is a classically trained musician who led the trumpet
section and played flugelhorn with the Stan
Kenton and Maynard Ferguson Orchestras for a combined total of ten
years recording five albums with Kenton and four with Ferguson.
He also recorded a number of television sound tracks with the Universal
Studios Orchestra including Gunsmoke, Quincy, Hawaii Five-O and Incredible
Hulk. Dennis played for a number of highly successful Broadway musicals;
among the standouts: A Chorus Line, Sweeney Todd and Chicago.
Dennis realized a life-long ambition when the orchestra made its performance
debut two years ago on
September 10, 1995 at one of South Florida's premier jazz venues, Kitty
Ryan's O'Hara's Jazz Pub on Fort
Lauderdale's world famous Las Olas Boulevard.
Dennis has previously performed with the Chicago Metropolitan Jazz
Orchestra. He was guest soloist at the
International Association of Jazz Educators Annual Conference held
in Chicago in January 1997.
